The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, in cooperation with Oman Environmental Services Holding Co (be’ah), is promoting circular economy and waste management opportunities valued at around RO 528 million to the private sector and small and medium size enterprises (SMEs).
The ministry said in a statement that the project opportunities will enhance FDI inflows and GDP growth, while also supporting economic diversification.
The investment opportunities are as follows: recycling of electronic waste, construction of biogas plant for electricity and heat production, fertiliser production, waste-to-energy plant, used cooking oil recycling, glass recycling, recycling of green waste, paper waste, cardboard, copper residues, aluminium residues, acid lead battery treatment facility, used vehicle oil and recycling of fish waste.
